Book Covers Over The Years [Design]

As an aspiring author, one of the things I'm thankful for is my previous experience in graphic design. It helps me capture the vision of what I desire in the covers of books I create, as well as the covers of others.

Below you'll see find designs of front covers and full covers (includes back and spine for physical books. I've even included visual 'design process' collages for two of the novels.

Three main factors are always considered:

1) Is the important content of the design remaining within the cut-off margins?

2) Is the size of the design matching the proper specifications? If reduced to a thumbnail, will it still be eye-catching?

And last but not least,

3) Is the cover aligning with the genre? If so, will it catch the desired audience's attention?

These projects go beyond design. They sharpen my craft by forcing me to think of new, creative ways to bring images together to make a new distinct cover. They enhance my communication with other contractors that will help me save time thanks to their skills I lack, ensuring the vision of the project is clear. Because of this, many of these covers are my favorite projects I've had the pleasure to work on.
